Development Department
Since inception, KACC Development Committee’s main charge has been that of investing the Church's funds. The primary investment objective was to preserve and prudently grow the Church’s financial assets with a view to eventually acquiring a home for KACC. To accomplish these tasks, the Development Committee has always sought input from Church members.
In 2005, the year designated by our Pastor as the “Year for Crossing Over”, KACC acquired the first church property on Robinson road, popularly referred to as “Church House”. A few months later, KACC acquired a second house which sits on the same lot. Most recently, KACC acquired a large complex, which has been designated the Kenya American Community Center, at 771 Elberta Drive, Marietta; the current church location. All this was accomplished with God’s blessing through the traditional Kenyan “Harambee” spirit of generous member contributions. “Harambee” is literally the spirit of pulling together.
Once KACC moved to the new premises in November 2007, the Committee’s primary charge began evolving into that of maintenance of church property and facility planning. KACC Center includes the three buildings sitting on a large lot. The property has already become a hub of activities for Church members and the Kenyan community in the Atlanta area and beyond.
With God’s guidance, the Development Committee is pleased to continue to play its designated role in this “Year of Multiplication.”
